TU Darmstadt connects various scientific cultures to characteristic areas. Emphasis is given to engineering areas and the natural sciences, which work closely with the applied human and social sciences. TU Darmstadt combines it’s excellence in research with the six technical areas that it offers: Cybersecurity (CYSEC)Internet and DigitisationMatter and Radiation Science, Thermo-Fluids & InterfacesFuture Energy Systems, and “from Material to Product Innovation”. Research in the technical areas focuses on current issues, with solid relevance for the economy and society.

TU Darmstadt has been connected with Brazil for many years through University partnerships, exchange students, and collaborative research, for example, in such areas as mechanical engineering, biology, and material science, often fomented by TU Darmstadt’s many alumni.  Dual diploma programs, in conjunction with the Polytechnic School of the University of São Paulo, play an important role in this respect.
