Humboldt-Universität zu Berlin (HU) an Universidade de São Paulo (USP) have been international university partners for many years. In 2015 both institutions strengthen their collaboration by signing a strategic partnership MoU which formalized the collaboration, and allowed for regular exchanges among professors, researchers, students and administrative personnel.

Two additional components to the partnership have recently been added: in 2022, the HU became an associate member of the DWIH São Paulo which expanded the network and collaboration opportunities not only with USP, but with partner institutions in Germany as well as with the Brazilian research and innovation network. In addition to this, Prof. Dr. Laura Kemmer who has been a member of the HU Geography Department since 2020, has been awarded with the prestigious Martius-Lehrstuhl Deutschland-Brasilien für Geisteswissenschaften und Nachhaltige Entwicklung which is a collaborative initiative between DAAD and USP. Prof. Kemmer will start her position at USP in April 2023.In order to celebrate these events and to highlight Prof. Kemmer’s research focus, HU, USP, DWIH São Paulo and its partner organizations would like to invite you to the Symposium and Film Screening  “Planetary Health and Resilient Society – Film Screenings and Discussions on Interdisciplinary Research in Planetary HealthThe event will take place on Friday, March 31st from 2 pm – 6:30 pm and will kick-off with an information session about funding opportunities in Germany (for USP Graduates, BA, MA, PhD).
